Home / About
A supper club for the home cook.
Vintage Dinner Night began in 1926 as a Savannah boarding-house table and has become a library of recipes built for real kitchens.

1926
It started with one long table
Our founder Lillian Hart fed eleven boarders every evening from a single iron stove. The recipes she scribbled on butcher paper are still the backbone of this site.

Today
Twelve recipes, tested twice
Every dish here is cooked at home first, on a regular stove, with ingredients from a regular grocery store. If it does not work on a Tuesday, it does not get published.

Always
Dinner is an occasion
Light a candle, use the good plates, and sit down together. That is the whole philosophy — the food just happens to help.
